Recently, I noticed the new Bubble Waffle Cafe had opened up in Aberdeen Centre, with long lines from those who expect decent bubble waffles. I haven't tried it out yet, but from last time's experience, I frankly do not really want to.
Which is why I am writing this post on the best bubble waffles I've had in Richmond from Sweet Bubble. I've always been a bit hesitant to write about this place because I studied here quite often and didn't really want it to get too crowded. (A bit selfish on my part, yes.) But now I'm off school next semester!
The bubble tea that a friend recently introduced me to is the wheat-germ milk tea ($4.75 + $0.50 for pearls). It’s basically the regular milk tea poured onto a heap of wheat-germ (or 胚芽) already in the cup. The wheat-germ gives the milk tea a slight malty taste. At the bottom, the wheat germ becomes soggy but still fun to chew.
Onto the bubble waffles ($4). Served on a cooling rack, they’re guaranteed not to be soggy, and they have been consistent every time. Perfect amount of sweetness and eggy flavour. Thin and crisp exterior, with a soft and chewy interior. So good. Seriously, these are amazing.
